QO'NOS SYSTEM

The Qo'noS system is a star system located in the Beta Quadrant and heart of the Klingon Empire.

Deep within the Klingon territory lies Qo'noS (pronounced Kronos), a Class M planet. The surface of Qo'noS includes a single large land mass and a vast ocean. In addition, the planet has a severely tilted axis which causes wild seasonal changes, a turbulent atmosphere, and extremes of both warm and frigid weather. Praxis, the only natural satellite orbits the Klingon Homeworld. Next to the planetoid Rura Penthe and the Tal'Ihnor Gates, this moon is one of the main sources of Dilithium ore in the Klingon Empire.

Qo'noS is the homeworld of the Klingons and the capital world of the Klingon Empire, and houses the Klingon High Council and other important institutions, like the Klingon Academy the capitol is the First City. Once it was an mighty fortress; until today you can see her military spirit in the structur of the building. The strikingst feature is the Great Hall - a builiding, used by the Klingons as parliament, highest court of justice and public gatherings.
